Accredited Officiant

Ordained through the Universal Life Church, Brennan is available to hire to perform weddings, funerals, baptisms, and more. Customized wedding vows, ceremonies, and other officiated engagements available. Non-denominational, LGBTQIA+ inclusive.

Voice Work

After years of being told he should look into voice work, Brennan started paying attention. He has created and performed custom poetry for several clients, including most notably, Kaiser Permanente health care. Voice work includes professional recording and pre-production editing for superior quality that can be tailored for your business in post-production.

Literary Education

A certified literary educator who holds a Master’s Degree in Poetry from Antioch University Los Angeles, Brennan has been teaching poetry and coordinating community workshops and events for over a decade. Performance Poet

Brennan DeFrisco is a Bay Area poet, and has been a National Poetry Slam finalist, a Pushcart Prize nominee, runner-up for the Drake University Emerging Writer Award, and 2017 grand champion of the Oakland Poetry Slam. He has performed his poetry throughout the Bay Area with Sofar Sounds, numerous literary events, and has created custom poetry for the Harvest Summit and Kaiser Permanente health care.

Poetry on Demand

Brennan is an experienced poetry-on-demand creator, creating custom typewriter poetry for both private and corporate events, including, but not limited to: weddings, holiday parties, conferences, fundraisers, and public festivals. His services as an on-demand poet have been engaged by numerous Bay Area corporations for events, as well as Get Lit, California Poets in the Schools, the Zelda Fitzgeralds, and Rent Poet.

Editor & Coach

Brennan holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Antioch University Los Angeles, with a concentration on performance poetry and public speaking. He has performed on the finals stage for National Poetry Slam, and was Oakland’s 2017 Grand Slam Champ. He has worked as an editor on the mastheads of Lunch Ticket, Meow Meow Pow Pow, and Caesura, among others. Brennan is an experienced poetry editor and public speaking coach, and is available to book in either capacity.

Brennan DeFrisco has 10+ years of experience in successfully writing grants for community education and enrichment, and within a number of various arts organizations, including The City of Emeryville, California Arts Council, Berkeley Arts Civic Arts Grant, California Poets in the Schools, California Arts Council, Robert and Elise Haas Arts Foundation, and more.
